Inside the Farm

How is your approach to farming different than other farms in the same category?
Although my career path has taken me to large retail, my passion is education, living local and being part of a small community. We are always looking for new opportunities to learn and engage. I'm a mother, wife and cooking enthusiast. An empty nester , farming with my wonderful husband, spoiled dog and team of Belgian Draft Horses. I'm a life long teacher always on a quest for new things to learn and share.

How does your different approach contribute to a long-term profitable growth strategy for your farm and other small farms like yours?
Working to make sure that everyone has access to healthy local food. On the farm we teach farming with draft horses, menu writing, and farm to table cooking. Supporting a more just food system. This year we were able to add a wood fired cooking oven to the farm and we have gardens dedicated to wood fired cooking.

How would you specifically use a Mortgage Lifter Lift or Mini Lift?
We would like to build a small three season building, a screen room to serve as an outdoor dinning room and class room space.

Please share why you are so passionate about your farm and/or farming in general.
My husband , Bob and I were simply captivated by Hooves and Hounds Farm and the possibilities it held for us. Our lives on this farm express our passion for farming with draft horses, locally sourced food, and a grounded way of life and being part of a community. We have hosted numerous exchange students, house guests, Veterans and even a wedding.
